At dawn, in the twilight zone, darkness and distance engulf the meeting between two mythical figures, who are mythological and yet so contemporary. Is it a struggle between two beings, or might it be Jacob in a struggle with himself?

Working on different formats, I employed a mixed technique of oil and tempera – a skill I gained during my studies with the Viennese Maestro Ernst Fuchs, the initiator of the school of “Fantastic Realism”.

The motif represented refers to struggle as a basic theme: struggle between man and himself, the conflict between the subjective and the objective, between matter and spirit; the realization of fantasies and wishes; the conflict between the sexes; the striving for identity. This motif is represented through the mythological encounter, symbolizing a struggle which I believe to be eternal.
